There are so many topics on the feedback list that the community cares about. Things that actually bring real value. Things everyone is waiting for. I would really love to understand why we get an update like this instead.
Sure, a new revenue stream by selling stuff for profile pages. Fine, you need to make a living too.
Couldn’t there have been more in the direction of community needs?
UI should be readable to new users. The old profile had categories and borders that lead the eyes and very plainly told new users exactly what was what. This UI has less information glanceable by people that aren’t already experienced with the UI which is a definite downgrade overall in my opinion. I don’t know what wacky animations will be added but from Discord experience I don’t have high hopes of any of them being positive to readability, especially when they’ll need to be creative enough for people to want to purchase but we shall see. This change might be more positively received if you could highlight feedback from new users/users in general who had issues understanding the old UI and how the new UI would help solve those problems. As is it seems the main goal was customization > usability.
Flick select sadly doesn’t counter drift. I have friends that have reset due to drift and they have flick select on. If your drift plays up at the same time you try to click something, you end up clicking what you drift to, since drift instantly changes your direction, not just slowly moving that way :[.
flick select off can help, but doesnt stop the issue as a whole, and still only needs a single click to press :[
Pluss having to switch your whole action menu’s button clicking to fix a single issue shouldnt be the solution ;-;
With this profile rework, it would be great to implement a wishlist feature!! Both for marketplace avatars, but also for world perks, store items and bundles and such!!
I like the profile customization, and I’ve noticed things that were broken on the UI are quickly being addressed (all my friends showing up as white names in my instance?!? (little yellow icon now). I get where the devs were going with the UI, but yes I echo its still cluttered and things moved around; not always making a ton of sense. As long as the UI update is evolutionary and they incorporate the best feedback, I’m ok with it.
As soon as I read what straz wrote about this, yeah, pretty much this, someone is going to make a world that lets you load up an image, and then take a picture in game of it.
