Developer Update - 30 July 2026

I am extremely elated about group banners being given a consistent treatment. This is huge! Thank you for listening to our feedback and specifically about giving us not just one option, but two for consistency!

Here’s to hoping that the group publics being opened by members when a member doesn’t have that permission gets some attention, too. The issue was said to be resolved before and I’ve made it clear that it’s only partially resolved.

I do hope there will be separate toggles for profile animations, so I can view profiles and immediately read them, rather than being distracted by flashy animations when checking profiles for moderation purposes or to just scrolling through multiple friends’ profiles, seeing where they are and such. I don’t want to disable every animation. It’d be nice to keep the nameplate animation and disable them on profiles.

We’re also missing vital information that’s relevant when you first see someone, such as earmuffs and mute. If I say hi to someone and get ignored, then I’m perceiving that as I’m being ignored. Not that the person has earmuffs on and I should check my quick menu to see if that’s the case.

I do hope there is a lot of fine-tuning the nameplates and profile features before the beta changes ship to live. Please take your time with it.

I’m happy to see persistence updates, as well! I thought from the beginning (as someone who currently doesn’t make worlds) that it was always periodic, so it was surprising to learn that it wasn’t. It’s also good to know that persistence data can be retrieved by support in case of something catastrophic. My understanding is that previously, support wouldn’t be able to accommodate that.
