The VRChat Groups Fair is Happening… Now!

The VRChat Groups Fair is a monthly, reoccurring event that is meant to encourage new and existing users to find active events hosted by helpful groups!

These groups can show folks the ropes, help them find friends, and get them integrated into a community in VRChat.

The current Fair is running until the 28th. You can find a category for the event under the Live Now tab.

Group Instance Linking

Starting in 2026.1.2, groups will be able to link instances to events after they are created. This should make it easier to manage events, ensuring people are funneled to where they need to go!

It should also be mentioned that, eventually, Live Now will only feature events that have an instance attached to them.

Repeating Events

We are putting the finishing touches on the ability to create repeating events!

Much like in your personal calendar of choice, on vrchat.com/home you’ll soon be able to create a VRChat event for your weekly hangout, your monthly club event, your birthday bash, or anything else you set your mind to.

This has been one of the most requested features – so we’re happy to finally be adding it in!

For this release, you can create repeating events with either basic or custom rules. Repeat events show up in VRChat calendars like any other. You can add an individual event to your calendar, or add the series to have them all appear.

Event series can be edited to update all their occurrences, or you can edit an occurrence manually if it has some specific details like a poster, special guests, or not-so-secret agenda.

This isn’t the VRChat calendar’s final form, and we’ll be reviewing feedback from group leaders and the broader community to refine it further in the future.

Creator Updates

Just one small change to report this time around:

  • Our Toon Standard shaders, including the Outline variants, now set "RenderType" = "Opaque" in both client and SDK. This can be useful for certain shader replacement trickery.

Conclusion

That’s it for this time around! See you March 5.

If only my groups’ events weren’t crowded out by “Featured" events every time I go to the calendar. I shouldn’t have to use the filter to see events I added :frowning:

I would mind less of they were under the events I’m attending, but it makes the calendar nigh useless

We really want VRC on MacOS guys!

PRESENTING AN EASY FIX:

  1. Open App Store Connect

  2. Select VRChat for iOS

  3. Navigate to the TestFlight tab

  4. For each group selected in the sidebar, under Test iPhone and iPad apps on Macs with Apple silicon click Enable

Per instructions here: Test iPhone and iPad apps on Macs with Apple silicon - Test a beta version - App Store Connect - Help - Apple Developer

Source: Apple Silicon Mac Support | Voters | VRChat

This would be a temporary fix. We would love to see a true MacOS port in the near future. The ground work has been achieved with the iOS version.

i ended up leaving a group because they always showed up first on Live, but the live event was “these are the days we’re not doing events” and it was always first. smh

Where is Soba?

where soba, fix collision layers (ie: Ignore Raycast), fix bedrock, macintosh exists, yknow like the usual

what I’m wondering about is if the constant EAC errors are gone and if I can move my home region out of EU without the fear of constantly getting EAC kicked/tempbanned because the auth sever can’t stay connected for beans in US-E/US-W for me

Any updates on Soba that can be shared?

Soba in the corner rn

Everyone is always asking, “Where is Soba?” “When is Soba?” But no one ever asks, “How is Soba…”

:face_holding_back_tears:

No updates for now. Check back in two weeks.

I’m not aware of these errors, so you should reach out to User Support!

Y’all can’t do that soon enough.

A native macos version using iOS content would be the most stable platform for vrchat. But you might not want that limitation.

With so many items now, ( im currently at 30), we REALLY need additional pages in the action menu :folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands:

Seriously this.

The calendar is a great feature that has been completely ruined by “Featured” events being shoved prominently in my face from groups I am not even a part of doing activities I have no interest in.
And don’t even get me started on the Live Now tab sometimes advertising minors’ birthday party events out to random people which is extremely disturbing and dangerous.

I ended up switching one of my Wings to be for Items. Same with Stickers and sometimes Emojis

Yea ive done that a few times, but i like having the wings for my friends and avatars :( the action menu is nice, cause it has its own dedicated spot

If it would at least remember the filters it would be fine. But as it stands, the calendar is unusable clutter because it’s explicitly designed to show me things I don’t care about. I don’t need to know about yet another birthday party from someone I have never met in my life.

Just remember my filters, make it default-on for new users, and it wouldn’t have to be another rotted and forgotten feature.

Are we supposed to receive 400 credits or 399 credits from this promotion? How about both, if a VRC+ subscriber has already claimed 400 credits from the Lucky Red Envelope?

What happened to the 400 credits promotion received initially by some users?

We originally had the Red Envelope give out 400 but changed it to 399 because 4 is an unlucky number culturally! We apologize for the change!

alright make it give 888 credits next year ;^)
