Welcome to the first VRChat Community Update thread! We’re going to post these threads weekly to keep you up to date on what’s going on with the VRChat Team. Think of it as a scheduled mini-devblog.
The idea is that we’ll make posts like this at the beginning of the week. We’ll also post a link to Twitter the following morning, so others can see what’s going on.
Anyways, that’s the gist! This is an evolving idea, so don’t be surprised if we change some of this up over time. Let’s get into it!
Let’s make Community Update a thing!
We do a weekly, internal VRChat digest to keep the team up-to-date with everything going on. We’d like to do the same thing for the community. …oh hey, look, we did it!
Thanks to everyone who joined our Dev Stream a couple weeks ago. It was a ton of fun! For those who missed it, you can check out the Twitch VOD. Oops, it seems like the VOD is down. We’ll update this link once we get it back!
We covered a lot of stuff, including (but not limited to) our upcoming UI redesign, Avatars 3.0, and more!
Virtual Market 4
Virtual Market 4 is live from April 29 - May 10. They’ve got their own world row! There’s… a lot of stuff. 36 worlds!
Release Cycle Changes
The Release team has pushed a number of patches for the 2020.1.1 release to resolve the most pressing issues. Aside from one more planned minor patch, they’re now moving back to our standard ~2 week release cycle!
Hiring - Community Support
We’re starting to interview candidates for the Community Support role. Keep an eye on your inboxes!
We’ll be moving onto the QA and Graphic Designer roles next.
The Feature Team is moving full steam ahead on all of the cool new features talked about in the Dev Stream.
We continue to be amazed by all of the new, innovative experiences built by the VRChat Creator Community. Thanks for all of your hard work! You motivate us to do our best!
