Can we talk about how hard it is to find actually active worlds lately?

Hey folks, just wanted to bring up something that’s been bugging me lately—finding active, social worlds in VRChat feels way harder than it used to.

I love hopping into public lobbies and meeting randoms for casual hangs or just vibing with chill folks, but lately I feel like I’m jumping through 5–6 nearly empty worlds before landing in one that’s actually got a pulse. Even the “Hot” or “Trending” tabs seem hit-or-miss. It’s not just me, right?

I get that instances split once they hit capacity, and private groups hang out in invite-only stuff, but is there a better way for the system to surface truly active public spaces? Like, maybe a “currently vibing” filter or real-time population heatmaps?

Would love to hear how you all find your favorite social spots lately—do you rely on groups, friends, or just pure trial-and-error? And devs, if you’re reading: is this kind of discoverability something that’s on the radar at all?

Thanks!

Totally agree, feels like you have to dig through a ton of empty worlds just to find one with real activity. Kind of kills the vibe sometimes.

Totally feel this, it’s been a struggle lately. I usually end up world-hopping for 30+ minutes just to find one room with actual conversation going on. A “currently active” filter would be a game-changer.
