Black Screen When I play VRC

When I got on today. At random time it will give me black screen for a second. And it wouldn’t do it in any other game on my quest 2 stand alone

  1. Check for Overheating
  • The Quest 2 might experience thermal throttling, causing momentary black screens. Ensure the device isn’t overheating, and take breaks if it feels warm.
  1. Update VRChat and Quest 2 Software
  • Make sure VRChat and your Quest 2 system software are fully updated. Outdated software can cause unexpected glitches.
    • Go to Settings > System > Software Update on the Quest 2.
  1. Clear VRChat Cache
  • Cached data can cause performance issues. To clear it:
    • Uninstall VRChat from your Quest 2.
    • Restart the headset.
    • Reinstall VRChat from the Oculus Store.
  1. Adjust Performance Settings
  • Intensive worlds or avatars may overburden the Quest 2 hardware. Try:
    • Switching to a less resource-heavy world.
    • Using a lower-complexity avatar or a fallback avatar.
  1. Test Other VRChat Modes
  • If possible, test VRChat via Link/Air Link on PC. This will help determine if the issue is specific to standalone mode.
  1. Restart or Factory Reset
  • Restart the headset: Hold the power button and select Restart.
  • As a last resort, perform a Factory Reset: Go to Settings > System > Reset Device after backing up any important data.
