Okay so VRchat plus users, people who optionally pay vrchat to support the devs in making the game better, dont get to be some of the first people to test verification? It just seems kinda messed up that these supporters are the reason age verification is being able to happen in the first place and they dont even get to be part of the first ones to try it just seems unfair.
If it helps, every person I’ve seen verified is also a VRC+ subscriber.
VRChats idea here is to actually test something before unleashing it onto the platform full scale.
When it comes down to it, I think they’d be smart to limit the age verification to active or maybe even previously active VRC+ subscribers. Age verification is a service that costs money and I’d prefer the source of that to be the users, and not some sort of corporate whatever.
It’s more useful for testing to have groups get it first since thats partly the entire point of it. They also had a very limited number of slots too, so making sure the verifications are actually going to the people they need to test it is good.
VRC+ users have gotten a ton of stuff lately between prints, stickers, sharing, etc. So I don’t think anyone is losing out here.
Small addition: As my opinion, not only vrc+ subs support the devs, there are too much supporters that helps in other ways like making avatars, worlds, people that make PRs on the github, some of the most known trusted users of some communities, content creators, etc.
I think for test this things they should have groups based on the time played in the last year/month, contributions, avatars, trust level (idk if its only trusted user or have more internally for that tests like a number value), and some other things. That can helps because you can enable a feature for a group that you know they will use it, like a big sdk update beta for avatar creators, new VRChat Creator Companion rewrite in the future for a specific group, or just the verification for people that you know they will use it.
