i really hate the idea of “safe and bigger”. when SESTA AND FOSTA are good intentioned but badly implemented laws
As a former Roblox QA Tester, I spent a lot of time at Dipolar’s On Tap bar, where I became close with an administrator named Sergeant_Roach. Together, we worked tirelessly to manage and improve the platform’s systems. I also contributed voluntarily to refining the application programming interfaces (APIs) to enhance the overall experience.
I’m not sure if Sergeant_Roach is still with Roblox, but they were truly exceptional—much like bitdancer, who I remember testing out loading UIs for Roblox’s logo and working on branding. Both left a significant mark with their talent and dedication on my life experiences.
While I miss my time at Roblox platform, after the challenges I faced there, I’m grateful to have found a supportive community and a sense of belonging within VRChat. I now feel at home with my new family.
I can’t deny that, having witnessed it firsthand, it was an incredibly complex and deeply ingrained issue. It was disheartening to see 14-year-olds flooding into games cussing like Mic-Up, Please Donate, Doors, Murder Mystery 4, and, even worse, my once-favorite place, (Resting Place☔🐸 - Roblox).
Hey. I’d like to sign up for the age verification, as I host adult bars for a group but only the bars are 18+, as its for people to just take a break and be able to safely talk without being bothered by younger users, and age checking can be difficult.

As of now, VRChat is gradually rolling out the age verification update to beta groups and select individuals. If it hasn’t yet been made available to your group, you may need to wait until it is. However, if your group is of a considerable size and you believe it might be eligible for early access, I recommend reaching out to VRChat Support for further assistance.
In the meantime, you can join the waitlist for future updates by visiting VRChat Age Verification - Home. Opting in for early notifications will ensure you’re alerted when the feature becomes available. Alternatively, you can look for groups that have official links to the age verification process and follow the steps provided.
Once you’re on the list, you’ll receive an email with a request to complete your verification.

When is this going to become wide spread? We need this like water in a desert.
VRChat are looking into Age Verification potentially leaving Beta sometime soon but plans can change.
