Unity editor Performance & project bloat?

Hi there first time posting hope it’s in the right spot.

I’m a hobby creator for avatars and spend a LOT of time making outfits, edits, of models and even some DIY work for some rings and necklaces lately.
A few questions regarding the overall performance of Unity.

  1. My unity project master right now sits at around 200GBs.
The assets folder is only around 50GBs however with the other 150 going to the Project’s Library/Artifacts/ folder.

Why? What is this for, what does it actually do?

  1. Sometimes when I click on an item, a piece of clothing, or something in the hierarchy Or the scene even, Unity halts to a full stop to compile scripts upwards of 5 minutes.

Why does it do this and what can I do to minimize that Full stop in production?

  1. Generally what impacts the performance of working in Unity the most? CPU, SSD, RAM, GPU?
Brand new projects load pretty quick in under a minute while my master project could be loading for 5 on average. Importing packages is also a common annoyance.

What can improve the overall responsiveness of working in Unity?

Thank You for any help or just reading through.
