Will there be a value on avatars to detect someone in 3rd person mode? That way you can toggle objects to be seen or not, or animations to play or not when in 3rd person?

(also will there be a 2nd person mode like minecraft? Like 3rd person, but from infront of you instead)

Maybe an additional point :thinking:. A user in 3rd person mode, which holds the tab key to move out of the VRChat window to check its Discord, will do a random little turn every time?

So, we not only know, that someone is not listening - we also see it? :sweat_smile:

Is the tab key really the right key for this?

Would also be nice to know it over OSC - but that should be the case if its a new parameter.

Since the video links got removed by a mod, showing off working clients and still not addressing the issue, much rather, ignoring the issue. Ima just screenshot one of the clients that was in a video, without linking it.

Looks like its a bigger issue. Before another community mod removes the images, kindly report them to your higher ups and pass this on rather than just removing much needed context :slight_smile:

Your posts are off-topic, that’s why your content is getting removed (I’m assuming!). This isn’t the place to post info like that, but we definitely would like to know in case you have anything new.

Please contact our security team via the exploit report form with information you have, ideally: proof-of-concept, documentation, background, examples, etc. They’ll pass it on to the appropriate folks.

Worlds should be automatically opted-out of Third Person View unless they Opt-In specifically.

Auto atlasing is kinda pog

I feel like just using the scroll wheel might be a little too easy to accidentally go into third person, as it’s right there on the mouse and it’s used in the menus (exiting the menu quickly while scrolling would activate it). It also might mess with people’s muscle memory too, especially with the item movement being changed to alt + scroll.

F5 as a toggle is pretty peak tho, almost everybody’s played Minecraft so it should be pretty natural.

There’s a slight deadzone-like behavior to it. If you’re enabling via mouse scroll, it takes two wheel detents within one second to trigger the enable

That’s great to hear! If you want to make third person view for mobile in near future, you can take a look at Cluster (VR) game for example. They have better 3P feature and more simplified on the mobile version

For what rediculous reason? I absolutely want third person in VR. I’ve always wanted to pretend to be a demigod controlling an *actual Avatar.
