Gotta admit, I’m pretty disheartened to see the devs prioritizing content like minor UI improvements and social groups when we STILL don’t have any word on a functional avatar search feature. The removal of mods that provided that singular, critical feature devastated the game for me. My entire friend group just stopped playing after the mods were killed, my wife and I included. It’s been weeks since I last logged in.
You’ve got to give us an avatar search already. Your priorities here make no sense. Avatars are the cornerstone of personalizing your experience in VRchat, and the “avatar worlds” system just doesn’t work.
Calling it “prioritized” is misleadingly inaccurate. It’d be more accurate to say that the “minor” UI improvements and social groups were already in the works for years before we put Avatar Search on the map.
Additionally, those “minor” UI improvements are absolutely required to implement something as UI heavy as an avatar search system. For my part, I would take personal issue with bolting that on in a hacky way to our old UI.
I understand that avatar search is a compelling feature, but when we do it, we’re going to do it correctly.
Mods to begin with is/was against the TOS of VR Chat for years so complaining about them not working/removed is kinda redundant to be honest and the groups thing has been talked about in the Dev blogs/vlogs for years, even going back 2 years now they’ve discussed/mentioned it
