That demo for contacts in worlds is something I never seen done with contacts on avatars, especially with radial and slider stuff. Contacts as a whole I feel would be great to have a bit of an overhaul on since their release in 2022 with things like integer parameter support, proper remote user syncing, and local-to-remote based interactions (where only the person touching the contact sees the animation and no one else sees it.)
Is Discord Account Creation on the same level as Steam and Quest?
To my knowledge, my apologies for misremembering details, the only real difference is avatar/world uploads cannot be done on Steam/Quest accounts, but on full VRChat accounts. Is this the same with Discord Created Accounts?
On the topic of third party logins, take this as my opinion, I’m not a fan. It’s a concern I have when others use them. I find it far more comfortable when someone is using the first party service/site’s own login method.
I’ve seen it with friends using third party logins for forum/article sites, and only one friend on PokemonGo, when that one third party login account is compromised or otherwise inaccessible, all those sites and services they are signed in, using that third party login, are also locked out. Most sites have no way to recover accounts linked to a third party for login, to be accessible under another login. Having an enforced secondary login for Third Party logins would make things far more recoverable for the user…in a perfect world I’d presume…
Example. I use Facebook. Let’s say I use it to log into blog and article sites, and as my Quest login. Many sites offer this. One day I wake up and no longer have access to my Facebook. In turn, I can no longer access my account on those blog and article sites, and my VRChat account is stuck in limbo if not lost, at least until I can recover my Facebook account.
As someone who works (very) rural area IT support (house calls to small businesses, managed or not), account recovery requests happen every month, some times every week. Commonly Google and Facebook. Unless there’s a enforced yearly “security check” option given, many of these lost accounts are un-recoverable, due to lack of recovery options in place, lack of answered/prefilled recovery options, or the emails/phone numbers/questions are well out of date. Those are fun when I’m working with a client who can’t keep the same phone number for 3 years, and have made half a dozen Facebook accounts in the last decade (I’ve got a friend who does…), lol.
For the account sharing stuff. Years ago I suggested this idea for feature that would help. Always wished this was a thing as I agree that account sharing is very problematic. But is the only thing some of us can do when there is no other option.
To me deterring people from account sharing is fine but actually implementing something like this would be better than just saying you don’t like it…
May We Have “Quest Audio” Back Please. .Some Of Us Questies/Android Users Need It Back!!! I’m Sure One Day In The Future We’ll Have It Back. Please Let Me Know.

I can’t wait for discord to know what games I play other than VRchat, I hope I get banned when they look at me playing Resonite cause that’d be silly :3
Wow that’s great news on every front here!
I’m looking forward to the phybones and contacts for worlds! ![]()
Do you guys really think shrinking scrollable viewport of tabs even more are good idea?
It’s a bad trend like with those buttons that was glued around quick menu in old UI.
I believe it would be better around profile area,
even if it’s not meant to be exposed and represent you as part of your bio,
and only used for logging in.
Or even better to drop a separate tab related to logging/accs/platforms like in any other services, like:
also
lmao
EDIT:
I generally love new guidelines, but two things.
-
It’s your fault a lot of people misunderstand.
First, you drop announcement like this:
Second, you be like:

Still not clear if it’s ok to download own .vrca and .vrcw with goal to decompile it, for example in case if original projects are lost. Surprisingly, lot of people do that, and download questionable tools only for that.
Will the World dynamics/contacts work with the avatar dynamics/contacts, for example having a world unlock a doorway with a key held by the avatar itself?
hi please do a test at me I do good feedback gud
Still waiting on Age Verification to work along side more adult themed tags for avatars and worlds. I will gladly take people complaining about not seeing content because they don’t want to share “muh-data”. Its more secure and can help crack down on those given explicit content those that aren’t supposed to. It’s a completely fair and reasonable trade off.
Worlds and Avatars tags should incorporate it
Obviously it won’t ‘stop’ users from using that content but now that means if they see it without verification, that means someone didn’t follow the guidelines and could face punishment, i.e, Content removal, ban/suspension which would enforce the rules.
I just want to understand why that hasn’t been implemented or what’s a legit excuse to not use it
As a systems engineer my pretty quick and obvious answer to this is: Age verification (currently) costs money, not everyone can afford to or wants to pay that money, adding content locking behind a paywall before having the adequate userbase and incentive to support that paywall alienates users, and alienating users negates the function of the paywall to support alternative content.
While I by no means speak for the dev team here, it clearly isn’t as binary of an answer as so many of the community would like it to be, and any implementation will take time, adequate coverage of regulation, and a recognition of user behavior outside of spoken user demands.
Your post alone describes no less than three new, currently nonexistent systems requiring programming, quality assurance, testing and userbase education to function adequately.
Not that there aren’t solutions capable of being rapidly developed: VRC just hasn’t hired the right person who can provide those solutions at a reasonable cost to them yet.
There is no age verification for a Friends+ or Invite+ Lobby… only groups. thats bad. And whats with the Youtube and Twitch Problems? Like the Bot Protection is now Killing 1/8 of all Visitors.
Thanks for the clarification about password sharing and private activities.
Could you also please share more details about the proactive moderation systems mentioned in the blog post? For example, what types of content will be analyzed. Will it be some sort of AI tool monitoring conversations in real time, or more like “safety checks” for submitted content (avatars, images, group banners, etc)? And what kind of actions will these systems take when they detect a potentially harmful activity?
Love all of it! You guys are doing an awesome job!
