Is it possible for VRchat’s constraints to separate the positional relationship between the target and the Script?
Like physbones, this would solve a very big problem.
VRC constraints currently mimic Unity constraints and prevent a single object from being placed repeatedly by the same constraints.
However, this may prevent later creators from using tools to separate scripts into single objects and unify control switches.
This has a lot to do with the performance impact of the current VRC where constraints are flooded and not turned off.
With 1000~3000+ bones and hundreds of constraints scattered across them, recording animations becomes a very difficult and time-consuming problem, unlike the physbone which is relatively easy to turn off (although the physbone has much less impact on remote avatars.)
This is the reason why creators are willing to use tools to improve the physbone and animation, but almost no one is willing to turn off the constraints.
There are just too many bones and constraints to spend too much time recording, even if they know it’s a problem.
(Except for a few creators who are willing to spend so much time on an avatar that is over 100MB in size).
There is no discussion here about why these creators want to make such a huge avatar, don’t discuss these personal intentions, it’s easy to lose focus.
What this means is whether a large number of constraint components of the same type can be place on an empty object?
This is very exciting the new portals look fangtastic Im totaly checking the new portals out. lso I can see the timer just fine I understand some people cant see it so can you make a feature where you can customize the portal timer size that would be really nice.
While I do agree with your statements about the jarring asynchronous nature of these suggested features, Orange status is far from alienating. Red status is alienating because it literally prevents you from receiving invite requests.
I personally do not understand why Orange status gets such a bad rep. Just request on them. If they don’t reply or say they’re busy, then they’re busy. If anything, people being constantly on Orange status is a symptom of VRChat not allowing for a different status for favorite friends. You often get too many friends and having them join on you at random can actually be quite problematic unless you are actively managing the situation.
Not everyone wants to be on blue or green all the time. I like to have more focused times with different friend groups.
I had someone tell me, and I have no idea if they were trolling or not, “Being on Orange is gatekeeping your friends from me.” Ever since then I’ve had a pretty bad outlook at anyone that dislikes Orange status.
The new portals look great but i would love to see increased functionality sometimes you go to a world hub and want to open a friends+ version of a portal it would be so cool if you could open your menu click the portal and bring up world details so that its easier to both see more about the world and drop another portal
Regarding world portals, It’d be absolutely incredible if we could upload multiple screenshots from within the world to show previews of it, rather than leaving it to the user to guess what they’ll see. Kind of like Super Mario Sunshine’s M portals
