Developer Update - 15 June 2023

Hello, used to play the game a while back before giving the account to a friend who was holding onto my quest while I was gone and when I got back, I let him keep it and the account (dunno why he didn’t just make his own) He recently got his own vr and is making his own account as I type this, but when I opened the game an error kept happening and I think it was something to do with EAC. After looking it up, it was because I had “vr performance toolkit” put in there, after taking it out, my fps has dropped immensely.

I’m not here asking why, because I understand why, but is there ever plans to either let this specifically bypass to allow people on pc to get better performance, because it is honestly really sad that I went from consistent 90+ fps to barely 30 while alone. If not this, then maybe an update to Vrchat as a whole to intergrade what that project had done?

I’m sure it’s easier said then done obviously, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that this would be a massive improvement as one of the major flaws with VRchat is that it runs pretty bad unless on the most barebone of settings which I say again I didn’t have issues with before I removed it

You are almost a year late to this topic.

They might eventually add in FSR support (and potentially VRSS), but only after they have updated their Unity version (which they are tbf already doing, but is still is a bit away, probably this year). They want to add FSR in properly, running it separate from UI and post-processing, for good reasons.

What you can do is just decrease the render resolution, that brings about the same performance and doesn’t degrade the visuals like FSR could do (a common place being worlds with lots of post processing).

I am aware I’m late, I did state that I haven’t played in a very long time. Thank you for explaining everything to me though, apologies for my dumb question, I was just genuinely curious. I have lowered the render resolution and other miscellaneous things that has improved my performance immensely.

Have a great day, and thanks again, much appreciated. I am excited to see what they do with VRChat in the future and I am ready to experience it with fresh eyes
