Yeah that would be great for advanced camera filter! But I think it’s better to make that option available for both the camera and the viewpoint (local player) setting. Honestly, some worlds overdo the post processing. A tweakable post processing option can help with that since not all world creators make that option available in their worlds. It may affect the creative intention behind the world, but it’s up to the players to see what they want to see.
Maybe show a warning before disabling post processing options so players understand that it will affect the intended world experience.
Thank you for finally publicly acknowledging the scale changing! I’ve been longing for this day for a very long time now. I hope you all come up with a good way to have it implemented. I would have been happy with it being a per avatar thing with an animation like with the old Scalegoesbrrr mod but a global feature should be good if it works. I’d love to hear more about its implementation, and if i’m understanding right, it would be world or instance specific? I think instance owner allowing it would be great and easy for everyone. World specific however sounds like a whole lot of worlds that would need to be updated and that could be bad. Either way, i’m very happy to finally hear that it is being implemented at some point, i can finally rest easy. Please let me know if you’d like some community insight from someone who wanted it, i’d be more than happy to help!
The ability to disable post-processing is a very necessary feature, because there are worlds in which PC players do not notice the nausea of VR players (the creator does not have VRHMD or the world is old).
+This will add FPS .
The change must be applied separately for each subsequent instance
The reason I really want the option to toggle the entire post processing stack off is i suffer from the side effects of having infantile spasms when I was 2. But after taking meds to cure them I still have issues. Visual overstimulation causes a fight or flight response. This is why I block audiolink, vrcdn, and want to block post processing completely. There is a noticable connection between post processing as a whole and triggering the issue. Not just.bloom. Turning it off with mods helped a lot in reducing time between triggering the response. This is an accessibility feature for me even if worlds look wrong or ugly. I just want to enjoy the game. This is why I will never relent on getting this added even if it’s a command line option.
I hope there is something about more than just color blindless for the visual options
Glad its being seen. Can I also ask a different thing, putting the toggle between snap turn and smooth turn on the quick menu, I often use snap turn cause of motion sickness, but when laying down, I like to switch do smooth turn to just adjust my angle in the slightest, but that always reqires going into the main setting menu to do so. Its just a small QOL change.
A quick massive thank you for all those insights. The mirror adjustments are plausible, the high Res warning as well.
And thank you for those awesome insights into why Avatar Scaling isn’t a thing yet including the tiny hint how people can make it possible rn using some tricks.
For the OSC issue with UTF-8 text - an idea for the devs: maybe Quoted Printable would work - being a software developer myself, it helped me a lot in environments where only 7 bit text was allowed. (This advice is WTFPL licenced XD - aka, I won’t claim anything if you happen to go that path XD).
I’m on the Open Beta and I’m happy with everything there is. IDK where can I write ideas so I’ll give it here. It would be nice if you would add a sound for the incoming invitations or invite requests, useful when someone plays with the HUD turned off where the icon is displayed, you could even go a step further and give a unique sample for each type of notification, O And you could add a rejection notification at all invite or request invite if that possible.
https://feedback.vrchat.com/ Would be the place to go for feedback. Just be sure to try search for your request first (search there isn’t too great, but a change of words tends to yield different results)
And make a new request for each separate feature that doesn’t belong with the others. In your case that would be two different posts
I do still want to request that texts should have a finger typing option, it would be way easier to type with my right hand and maybe like a small keyboard on my left wrist
Impressive updates. I only desire one thing that would actually allow me to fully enjoy VRChat again. The ability to disable video players.
I have a weak DSL connection with no other options. High bandwidth streams make my ping soar to unplayable levels.
I have other ways of streaming the music at events if only I could disable the video player. Muting the world audio spares me from hearing the buffer but the game never stops trying to stream the content which usually means I can’t attend events.
Note:. I presume modifying the players themselves with bandwidth controls is not an option, but if audio only could be a standard option then this would be even better for me and probably club world’s as a whole.
Alternate possibility: The ability to stream live world audio by permission of instance creator. With audio reactive UDON worlds and shaders and performance of large events always being a struggle this could be much better for club worlds.
Regarding the drone camera, as a world creator might it be possible to setup ‘no fly zones’? I can see it being an issue if you want to create a secret space, staff room, private lockable room or passcode protected room and then being able to fly a camera into the space.
It would thusly be good if world creators could setup colliders to prevent the drone from passing through.
Would it be possible to have the physbone feedback work when you touch any part of an avatar or even world, instead of just physbones? Also, a colour change slider for the vrchat ui or even whole game would be nice, either for preference for more niche colour blindness. Also isnt there any talk on offering a more privacy focused anti cheat? I certainly don’t trust eac to scan through all my files and send the data to god knows who. Could you not develop your own form of anti cheat? I know bloons td6 has a light anti cheat that detects dll files in the games install folder that shouldn’t be there, and doesn’t require root access to do.
Hey Changa!
I agree with making the avatar scale a changeable parameter, but I think that is something VRChat already has in mind when making the scaling of avatars a native system. Especially when tupper stated that they can make it better (than exsisting work arounds). And dont get me wrong, I am not using it as a disjointed quote, but I get the idea as to where they are comming from, essentially making it smoother, more easy to use and maybe more (but those are just speculations).
Question about the desktop camera
Would we be able to use the “stream” function or a similar function to record the camera view directly without switching our view to the camera view ? kind of like how VR users can record their desktop view while having their normal view still .
Unless you let map makers restrict what the Drone can do, I’m personally against letting the drone clip through walls, as it’ll ruin a lot of the surprises, some mechanics, and encourage cheating in game worlds.
I also agree that some world filters needs to be added to a personal setting as they can get out of hand. Bloom generally is one of em, but there are other post processes that really get heavy handed.
A suggestion I have for Haptics is to let us customize where it triggers instead of just “when touched”, and I hope there’s thoughts on a way to turn it off quickly when annoyed by it constantly going off.
I do hope the safety system gets a revisit at some point as it rarely works for me. It needs some new options and some glitches are still present in it (audio sometimes plays despite only friends having it turned on). Also, I do hope you guys install a backend checker for these crashing/“corrupt” avatars and axe em. Main thing I’ve been wanting to see. Should have plenty of data on how these avatars are made with reports of people with these avatars on their accounts being reported.
Giving users more control of their visuals is only a net positive, people aren’t gonna stay in a map if they feel like the post-processing is too much so I don’t see how it wouldn’t be the right thing to do. This seems misguided.
