How would you suggest someone learn how to fly one? I feel like there’s something I’m missing; it feels too much like it’s “slipping” like it’s on ice and I want to learn more about flying them than just through experience alone.
If it feels too slippy, increase drag! Indirectly, reducing mass also makes it more affected by drag, to get the effect even further.
Controller setting 3 or 4 has proven most reliable for everyone I know who uses it. Keep auto leveling turned on.
If you have a quest 3, get the app XR Drone off horizon and practice using that: It has better line of sight flying, since it can use your realworld space. Knowing how to fly an actual drone helps a lot, and there are a lot of sims and tutorials that will provide that information online.
Stick with the controller display only until you get used to it, and then tweak the fpv settings so it stays locked to your head; I have a tendency to drift my head when in fpv otherwise.
