Avatar upload error "DateTime"

Tried to upload a new avatar i just got from gumrod but it gave me an error: “String was not recognized as valid DateTime.”

I’m really new to custom avatars so i have no idea what to do.

Which VRChat SDK version are you using? Are your dependencies up to date for your project (in VRChat Creator Companion / ALCOM)?

Is the clock in your operating system synced to correct current date and time?

Are you able to upload a sample SDK avatar successfully in a new project? How about in the existing project experiencing the issue?

VRChat CC version is 2.4.5 the rest are here:

I resynced my date and time witch did not change the error.

The same error comes across all projects, i downloaded a random avatar and it gave the same error.

I can build and test the avatar but not upload.

Trying to upload the sample avatar gives the same error again.

That’s quite odd, but like Wub said i would have questionned a time sync issue.

Can you try to make another empty unity project with just the SDK and upload the sample avatar that is available on the VRChat menu in unity ?

That way maybe there was something weird with some other unity projects you had.

So, for whatever reason i cannot upload avatars on my PC but i can do it on my laptop.

As for using only SDK the result is still the same.

Are you using a specific Windows language pack or keyboard layout on your PC, that may differ on your laptop?

OK… so i figured it out. My PC had “set time zone automaticly” on witch for some reason caused the “Sync now” to not sync properly.

Turned that off, synced the time again and now i can upload.

Jay!

I got the same error, but for me the fix was changing the windows settings Time & Language → Language & Region → Regional format to English (United States). The SDK seemed to not like my local format.

This has been formerly reported as a bug for the Estonian regional format:

If you’re experiencing an issue with some other regional format too, I suggest adding a comment to that feedback topic.
