# Solution for Harmony Error on Apple Silicon Macs

Hello VRChatters using macOS!

If you’re creating avatars or worlds on an Apple Silicon Mac, you may have encountered the error `mprotect returned EACCES`, or experienced an immediate crash (with `SIGILL`) when launching Unity.

This issue is caused by a lack of Apple Silicon support in Harmony and MonoMod, the underlying libraries used by Harmony.  
I’ve been dealing with this issue for a long time, and it’s been quite frustrating.

That’s why I created a solution and published it recently.

This package patches MonoMod in HarmonyLib and replaces it with logic that supports Apple Silicon on macOS.

You can install it via VCC by [adding my repository](https://vpm.anatawa12.com/add-repo) and installing **“Harmony Patches for Apple Silicon (native & Rosetta)”** in your project.
