OP’s Notes: I’m specifically focusing on worlds where the soul purpose is to consume alcohol or any other substances. Roleplay worlds technically apply but that would make this a whole lot longer than it already is… as seen below
This is more specific towards places where adults like to mingle and consume to meet more adults whom are doing the same. Those worlds should be tagged 18+ by default either by the creator or forced by VRChat just due to the nature of the content. Drinking Night being a huge one. The world quite literally advertises itself as a place to drink. Yet it’s not labeled as such (adult tags) in any of it’s Creator tags or even it’s VRChat Dev tags that boost it’s position on recommended / active worlds. They should have an “18+” tag or “Adult_Content” tag as they are adult themes. Unless VRChat deems Drinking and Smoking as a 13+ activity, which in this case, Im more inclined to believe.
This is not a dig at Rackshaw / Drinking Night (I did snap their description though). But this is a great example of an “exemption to the rules”. I also understand there are gray areas too that skirt the line 
, like “But it doesn’t tell you what to drink” “There are no suggestive themes” (Alcoholism and Pot smoking are ‘technically’ adult themes), and “Well this is not forcing the player to engage with -insert example here- content” and similar things along those lines but come on, obvious is obvious.
Also simply adding in the world a sign stating it’s 18+ does not and should not allow you to bypass proper content tags. That’s how content gets shown to users whom aren’t supposed to see it. It’s purpose is for 18+ at the start anyways.
I also want to note that when Content Gating gets fully enforced, what is that gonna mean for established worlds? Are they gonna get a “pass” and still get shown to those not verified by default? (Which technically already happens and would mean the rules they themselves set don’t actually apply to them)
I mean, Just H Party was advertised in the official VRChat YT page too, and we all know what those worlds are for. Whether you use them for their intended purposes or not, we all know what they are for. RIP Shang - (though worlds like that are a separate topic to this)
Bottom line, general adult theme’d worlds should be tagged / labeled as such. They shouldn’t get special treatment too just because VRC Staff likes the world, that’s what leads to perks getting abused
Ngl, proper content gating would make more adult social environments safer. (No Im not gonna sit here and yap about "why don’t you use private, group, ect, instances. That is not only besides the point, that directly ignores the point. Not just that but it contradicts the whole purpose of even having age verification, not to even mention that stops you from engaging with more people. I don’t wanna be forced to be in a closed group)
