Audio produces inconsistant results when combined with locomotion

i have audio files set up to my characters foot steps, but they do not play when i am crouching. Standing and prone animations play them perfectly, but as soon as i am crouching they will only maybe play once like 5% of the time and even then not consistently. I checked all the files and the keyframes are set up right so there is no reason for why this happens.

its also worth noting that the game automatically lowers the play speed of these animations for crouch and prone which honestly i dont like.
